Aisle Types
Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to work in. These equipments could turn in an aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to take into consideration with different models.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks can work in less than 6 feet areas, whilst some would utilize certain guidance systems such as optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks include Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are common models in tight retail spaces and in several storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could operate in aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up models like for example Reach Trucks. They are often utilized in storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to reduce operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is spacious and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body exhaustion by easing frequent entry and exit. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and thus more effective while limiting fatigue.
