Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machine while they pick up and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to transport unstable or tall loads using these machinery. A rider could be the right answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the best alternative.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machinery designed specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles which could work in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of machine during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
