Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different types of sources that can power forklifts. They could run from gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the equipment must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must truly be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. For instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
